New walkway provides safer and shorter route for community

Capestone residents now have a direct link to the Mango Hill East train station from the southern side of the community.

Capestone residents now have a direct link to the Mango Hill East train station from the southern side of the community. The new walkway will help better connect residents to public transport services, as well as provide a safer and shorter route for school students. The new pathway and landscaped gardens run from the station to Ellison Parade where there is a drop-off zone and car parking available.

“It is excellent that we have the connecting walkway available to use,” St Benedict’s Catholic Primary School principal Patrick Davis said.

St Benedict’s is looking into creating a ‘walking school bus’ initiative. The walking school bus will involve students being escorted in groups by school staff through the station to school.
