Our lakeside community comes to life

We are pleased to announce the final stage of the lake construction has officially commenced. The lakeside precinct will include a 12.8 hectare lake, bordered by a 2.5 kilometre hike and bike trail and a series of both passive and active open spaces and parks. Construction on the lake is due to continue until late 2019.

National developer Urbex has commenced the final phase of construction of Capestone’s highly anticipated 12.8-hectare lake. With an expected completion date of late 2019, Project Director Todd Zuideveld says the lake will further position Capestone as offering its residents a superior lifestyle as well as providing an important piece of infrastructure that treats water flow within the catchment.

Water quality within the lake is maintained through the use of the pumped saltwater exchange system which draws from Saltwater Creek. The pump station and rising main have been designed to operate for 12 hours a day and turn over the volume of the lake within 30 days.

“It’s one of the final pieces of the puzzle here to activate the urban hub of this exciting community shared at Capestone,” Mr Zuideveld said.

“Once completed, we’re confident the lake will make a significant difference to drawing the community outdoors to make the most of the open space and recreational nodes on offer”.

The final stages of construction will involve excavation of land, forming the shape of the lake and filling the catchment with bodies of water. Works completed to date include the lake’s interface from Anzac Avenue and part of the lake’s boundary park amenity and revetment walls adjoining the urban hub.

Amenities bordering the lake will include urban apartments, a childcare centre, a shopping plaza, a 2.5 kilometre hike and bike trail, passive and active open spaces, and parkland.

“Our focus has always been to create an abundant, convenient and affordable lifestyle opportunity for home owners within arm’s reach of essential amenities.

We’re looking forward to creating those positive opportunities for hassle free family time again.” Senior Sales Consultant, Phil Johnston says the lake offers a much more affordable way to enjoy waterfront lifestyle, giving residents the chance to access water views in south-east Queensland without a hefty price tag.

“People are wanting to enjoy living close to all amenities, but have a relaxed lifestyle by the water with ample open space and parkland,” Mr Johnston said.

Non lake frontage home sites are selling for an average $255,125 and Lake Frontage home sites are selling for an average $452,000 lake. Construction is anticipated to continue until the end of 2019, and will include leisure and parkland amenities around the perimeter.

We look forward to delivering this iconic piece of infrastructure to the community, and are excited to see our lakeside community come to life.
