Heading North to Beerwah, home of the Sunshine Coast, families will find many fun-filled activities that are sure to be talked about the whole way home. Here are some of the top attractions on offer at the Sunshine Coast: 

Recognised as one of the top park attractions in Queensland, Australia Zoo is not one to miss. Home to the infamous Irwin family and more than one thousand animals, Australia Zoo is the place to visit. Whether you’re looking to hand feed a kangaroo, pet a koala, visit the Wildlife hospital, or watch the daily crocodile show, Australia Zoo offers endless opportunities for families to delve into and enjoy fully.   

If animals weren’t enticing enough, Pioneer Park, Queensland’s first all-abilities playground, is a destination of its own, offering a wonderful park and amenities for families to set up for the entire day. Parents can rest easy knowing that the playground offers rubber padding, so children can prevent injuries. The park also boasts many additional features such as a flying fox, copious swings and large play spaces, so families can be sure to dabble into a myriad of activities. Shared picnic shelters and BBQs are also on offer, ensuring families can set up for a full day at Pioneer Park. 

If you’re wanting to visit the crystal-clear water and soak up the warm Sunshine Coast sun, Caloundra Beach is recognised as one of the top beaches along the 211 km stretch of coastline.  Offering multiple beaches within minutes of each other, the Sunshine coastline is one not to miss. With a wide array of cafes, restaurants and shops, visitors are sure to not be left short of choice when finding the perfect place to set up for the day. 

If visiting on a Saturday, the Mooloolah Town Hall is a must see. The 4 Season Markets are held seasonally, and visitors can purchase fresh food and vegetables, whilst relishing in ready to go food and drinks whilst meandering through the stalls. A perfect slow start to the weekend, or a great way to purchase only the freshest food on offer for the week.
