North Lakes Aquatic Centre
As the weather gets warmer make a splash at the North Lakes Aquatic Centre. Whether you’re looking to participate in group fitness, enrolling the kids in some learn to swim classes or just simply wanting to cool off, the centre is able to suit all requirements. With dedicated classes for all ages from two months old and outdoor play pool areas, North Lakes Aquatic Centre looks forward to providing the very best health and recreational experiences this summer.
Town Park Lake Eden
Town Park Lake Eden in North Lakes has family-friendly amenities and play equipment plus serene vibes and beautiful views. Perfect for a playground play accompanied by a packed picnic lunch or a quick cup of coffee before a walk at the conveniently located cafe. The Lake Eden Trail is a true highlight that weaves around the entire area and is a part of the council’s 10,000 steps program. No matter your level of fitness, everyone from dedicated runners, casual walkers and children can all enjoy the picturesque trail.
North Lakes Westfield
Take advantage of the season of sales and plan a shopping day at Westfield in North Lakes. Take a break from the heat of the outdoors and indulge in some retail therapy with over 200 stores to choose from. North Lakes Environmental Reserve
Visit Brisbane’s (much smaller) answer to Kakadu at North Lakes Environmental Reserve. This protected stretch of wetland is populated by 29 species of native bird and home to a plethora of other native Australian flora and fauna. There are several spots perfect for picnicking or setting up the ultimate summer barbecue dotted around the reserve, specifically the Lakes on Lacebark Street, Whitebeech Court and Whitecedar Circuit Lake all have access to undercover seating and electric barbecues. The well-maintained walking and cycling tracks connect different areas of the parkland – perfect for a change up of scenery on your morning walk.
Osprey House Environment Centre
This centre can be found on Dohles Rocks Road in Griffin. The Osprey House Environment Centre, an environmental treasure trove showcasing Pine River’s rich bird and marine life, features a range of free things for families to see and do, such as theatre shows and displays to observe. The kids corner that features a touch and feel table is sure to be a hit with any inquisitive little ones! Outside the centre are ample trails suitable for birdwatching.
